    That doesn’t look so bad to me. Would look better if they painted it up white to match the fence though. Does seem a waste not to use such nice vintage headboard as a headboard though.

    I like it. It “fits” for the most part. Polish it or paint it though. Good use though (if you’re not going to use it as intended).

    Usually antique stores around here are shot through with mismatched headboards like that either without the other parts or with broken castings where the rails once attached.
    This is some clever repurposing. Beats sending the pieces off to the scrap heap

    This reminds me of a gate my grandmother had that was made entirely out of worn out horseshoes. Her father (a blacksmith) made it.
